SECURITY GOALS

Letter to Southern Oregon Law Enforcement Leadership
(PDF delivered by Email 2/7/17)

  1. Each leader, group and attendee acts alone, yet with the strength of a tribe.  This strategy protects any one leader or group from being targeted with tickets, personal attacks or press.
  2. Driving and park withing the rule of local law.  Remind attendees not to block roads or crosswalks. This will be a challenge with expected traffic.
  3. Maintain a high standard of respect, decorum and confident resolve the monument is going to be recalled.
  4. Leaders from various unnamed groups will appoint security volunteers they trust.  No positioning for power or management of security should be introduced or allowed.  No in-fighting serves our goals.
  5. Video Recording is encouraged to keep the opposition on their best behavior.  Any illegal activity should be filmed, be it opposition or attendee for everyone’s protection.
  6. Leaders are asked to promote calm, diffuse situations with opposition & attendees as needed.  Mentor & ask rather than order attendees.  Keep calmly, friendly assertive voices and tones.
  7. In the event the opposition becomes physical, stand down and involve law enforcement unless it is a life or limb threatening situation.  Remove, protect and console any attendee that has been faced with confrontation beyond acceptable.
  8. Leaders & attendees should be willing to file a police report and interact positively and in a friendly manner with Law Enforcement and opposition.  We expect no problems and have reached out to our opposition’s leadership successfully.
  9. Press contacts were invited.  Please direct them to Ryan Mallory, a communications consultant for further instruction.  No one group and no specific leadership will be discussed with press or opposition.  Attendee & leader comments to press are fine.
  10. Remind attendees to leave no visible trash or sign footprint on exit.

~ Thomas Jefferson

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety or liberty!

Ashland Plaza to Green Springs Inn

GS Route 1:  Siskiyou Blvd to Hwy 66 (Fastest)

GS Route 2:   Dead Indian – Howard Prarie – Hyatt Lake
(LONG – intended as a backup plan only)

Shale City Road Run

Some of the tribe may want to join a post-rally run after the Green Springs in rally.  ASK AROUND & FOLLOW SOMEONE THAT KNOW THE ROUTE.  The drive would be like Route 2 to Green Springs Inn but in reverse.  Shale City Road runs from Dead Indian Road near Howard Prarie and back in to Dead Indian Road on the way back to Ashland.  Opposition-owned businesses are along that route.  They have stated in public meetings that they “dislike the sound of 4x4s during hunting season.”  Again, DO NO HARM, but drive all you want on PUBLIC LAND.
